"As an experienced baker and business owner with many years in the bakery business, we saw customers devouring yummy, but sadly, unhealthy sweets.  We set out to develop a healthy cookie that maintained all of the wonderful flavor and texture of a more decadent cookie but without all of the extra dairy and gluten.  The original Chocolate Chewies were loaded with California walnuts and created in 1984; but after having moved the company to Eugene, Oregon, imagination soared.    Now these gluten free and dairy free cookies are available in ten different varieties!  If you are visiting Eugene, be sure to stop by the Eugene Farmers Market (8th and Oak) and experience Chocolate Chewies in person.  Free samples always available!"
